The City’s Sweetest Instagram Spots

Manhattan’s Most Instagram Worthy Dessert Offerings

Like the old tree falling in the woods philosophical quandary, in today’s social media obsessed world, if you don’t post a swoon-worthy Instagram photo, did you ever really eat it? It’s always been said that “we eat with our eyes first,” and in today’s newsfeed addicted society, this rings more true than ever. Over-the-top sugar confections now come with the added glory of making your Insta feed as addictive as the food itself. And in the foodie capital of the world, it’s absolutely certain that Manhattan offers an unsurpassed selection to make your entire network crave a sugar kick. From sky-high milkshakes and sundaes that break the bank, to celebrity favorites, we’ve selected some of the city’s most Instagram-Worthy calorie bombs for you to indulge:

Serendipity 3

While we know that Serendipity 3 is already on almost everyone’s New York bucket list, we also know it’s for good reason. Marilyn Monroe and Jackie Kennedy were regular patrons of the cafe, which was made even more iconic when Kate Beckinsale and John Cusack starred in the film named for where its characters fell in love. The eaterie’s notoriously oversized sweet offerings would be worthy photo-opps in themselves, but for the ultimate post, we suggest their famous Golden Opulence Sundae. The $1000 sundae has been listed in the Guinness Book of World Records', and will make your newsfeed shine, as it’s topped with 23-carat gold leaf. The hefty price tag also includes Tahitian Vanilla ice cream infused with imported Madagascar Vanilla, Amedei Porcelana (reportedly the world’s priciest chocolate), rare Venezuelan Chuao chocolate, gold coated almonds, candied fruit from Paris that cost $100 per pound, Grand Passion Caviar infused with passion fruit, orange and Armagnac, chocolate truffles, marzipan cherries, and a gilded sugar flower that takes eight hours to create. Did we also mention that this is all presented in a $300 Baccarat Harcourt crystal goblet that customers also get to keep? The sundae requires advance notice to order, so get your credit card and camera phone ready for one of the city’s priciest indulgences.
